Did you know that in Quebec, children under age 10 receive the following services free of charge at the dentist's office:
one examination per year
emergency examinations
x-rays
silver fillings (amalgam) for their back teeth
white fillings (composite) for their front teeth
prefabricated stainless steel crowns
sedative dressings, i.e. temporary fillings intended to reduce pain
root canal treatment, pulpectomy, pulpotomy and emergency opening of the pulp canal.
tooth extractions
It is important to note that preventative treatments are not covered by RAMQ for children under 10. These include:
routine dental cleaning
fluoride application
Pit and fissure sealants
